Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, an artist's daughter, from Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. When she was a kid, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as old Boleros. Also, she listened to traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other dramatic performances. When she was 16 years old, she began to sing and study music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began giving her a more intensive vocal instruction. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, as well as a young professional at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups as well as choruses. After moving from Mexico to America around 2000, she sang for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. In addition to being an instructor and performer in the local area and instructor, her passion for art and music has her active in a variety of projects. Ana is also a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able be able to share her love for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will help younger generations continue the tradition.
